Q. How do you prep your under eyes for concealer and what concealer do you recommend and how do you keep the concealer concealing for the whole night?

A. Prepping the skin is essential to long lasting makeup particular under the delicate eye area. To rejuvenate, tighten and brighten tired eyes prior to concealer, apply Intraceuticals Rejuvenate Eye masks which contains Collagen to target dehydration and wrinkles. I prefer to keep them in my refrigerator at home to provide an immediate boost and maximise results.

Using a lightweight colour corrector such as Urban Decay’s Naked Skin Colour Correcting Fluid features an innovative, lightweight formula that instantly colour corrects prior to concealer. I recommend using a pink colour corrector which works beautifully on fair skin to disguise dark circles and a peach colour corrector for deeper skin tones to diminish the appearance of deep discolouration. Remember, less is more when it comes to product under the eyes.

Choose a lightweight concealer such as YSL All Hours Concealer. A concealer that truly lives up to its name as it literally lasts throughout the day to night. What I love most about All Hours is that it’s buildable, conceals dark circles yet appears natural.

Q. Out of all the brands you’ve collaborated with why did you choose Intraceuticals as your go to skincare brand? Can you share a bit more about why you feel beautiful makeup begins with beautiful skin first?

A. The foundation to creating the perfect canvas for flawless makeup begins with the skin. As an artist, you are just as good as your products and techniques. I chose to work with Intraceuticals simply because I don’t have the luxury of waiting three weeks for a product to work. Intraceuticals provides immediate results that are consistently reliable, and my clients expect nothing less.

Q. How do you know if you should be using blush or bronzer and what tips do you have to apply so I don’t look like a ????? Do you ever put the two on together??

A. Blush and bronzer are the same. I always use two colours (sometimes three) to avoid any confusion let’s stick to two... I recommend using a light bronzer (preferably a shade or two darker than your natural skin tone) and apply along the hollows of your cheeks as well as to contouring your facial structure. Apply a minimal pop of colour to the apples of your cheeks for definition (this will help to avoid appearing flat) Use a cream blush for dry skin and a powder blush for oily skin, this technique will help you create the perfect combination of accentuating your best features while creating the illusion of healthy looking skin.

Q. Sorry. 1 more :). How does 3 step layering work??

A. My go-to hydrating routine consists of three simple steps by Intraceuticals. I use three products because they’re specifically formulated using a Vitamin A,E C, Green Tea Extract, Aloe Vera, combined with a low weight hyaluronic acid to work together to drive hydrating ingredients to the skin.

Rejuvenate three step hyaluronic layering is a must-have product in my kit. In three easy steps it will provide the ultimate hydration to effectively prep your skin for an absolute flawless makeup.

Step 1. Revive the skin by using Intraceuticals Rejuvenate Daily Serum to hydrate and deliver potent anti-ageing ingredients to the skin.
Step 2. Apply Intraceuticals Rejuvenate Hydration Gel to replenish and instantly hydrate the skin, which provides a reservoir of anti-ageing nutrients to the skin while visibly addressing the signs of premature ageing.
Step 3. Intraceuticals Rejuvenate Moisture Binding Cream. The binding cream not only locks in moisture, it smoothes the skin and combats surface dehydration to ultimately protect your skin and ensure long wearing makeup - a skin care essential for all women!

Q. I'm using the oxygen device during the tour of Malika Ayane in Italy, before the make-up, I would like to try to apply the liquid foundation vaporizing it with Intraceuticals, is it possible? ????

A. Intraceuticals created and tested the oxygen system exclusively for skin care application.

Q. I sometimes see you wearing these special glasses with lights on when doing touch ups. Are these somewhere for sale?

A. I created the makeup light/glasses exclusively for my assistants to use in challenging environments, such as backstage at fashion show and/or photo shoots. Ideally, I would love to perfect them and release them to artists in the future.

Q. What is your favourite setting powder? I often find powders taking away the glow... And do you use the same powder for touch ups? Would also like some tips on how to avoid creases under the eyes and on the eyelid! ????

A. I prefer to use blotting paper to absorb excess oil.
I’m not in love with using powder however, Shu Uemura colourless sheer powder is one of my go to powder products. To keep a luminous glow, I recommend using powder sparingly particularly at the sides of the nose, chin and forehead.

To avoid creasing under the eye area, I recommend using Rejuvenate eye gel which contains hyaluronic acid to combat dry skin, while Vitamin C and green tea will target dark circles and puffiness. Rejuvenate eye gel will prep the delicate area under the eye, as well as ensuring long wearing concealer. If the skin tends to be oily, choose a lightweight concealer to avoid creasing and cracking. I also love Cle de Peau Concealer which is buildable and long wearing. RCMA concealer palettes are a stable in my kit because they’re loaded with pigment and very reliable!

Q. @ginabrookebeauty I follow you on IG and see you traveling around the world, raising your beautiful son, and making top celebrities (from @amberheardto @kimkardashian & @kendalljenner to @madonna ) look their absolute best across the globe! I can barely put on a coat of lip gloss - HOW DO YOU MANAGE this crazy balancing act (looking like a million bucks yourself?) ????????♀️????????

A. I give myself an Intraceuticals Oxygen treatment which literally makes me look like the best version of myself in less than 35 minutes. I begin by using Atoxelene to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles (it’s what I like to call a natural Botox) followed by applying Intraceuticals Rejuvenate serum to my entire face and neck to provide ultimate hydration. It makes me look like I just came back from vacation! It’s what I use on all my clients to create the appearance of healthy glowing skin.

As for balancing my work and personal life, Well… I wish I had a perfect formula to it all. I’m very passionate about my family and my work and honestly, I try not to think about it too much...I just do it!

Q. Last one promise! What’s your favourite eyeliner and liner on the waterline... tried out several but all of them seem to disappear so quickly!

A. Pat McGraths ultra-glide eye pencil is a safe bet. You can also apply NARS larger than life long wear eyeliner in Khao San Road, to the inner corner of the eye and extend the line to the outer corner. You can choose to blend and smudge the line, I prefer to keep it solid.

Q. Gina, what is your favourite colour palette for brown eyes which a heavy hood, to make them pop? ????????

A. To make the eyes pop you need to use both light and darker colours for contrast. One of my favourite palettes is Tom Fords Eye Quad which can be used on brown and light eyes. The palette contains the perfect complementary shades of satin, matte, sheer and sparkle using rich golds and aubergine.

Keep in mind, the beauty of having brown eyes gives you the ability to use any colour your heart desires, experiment until you can find the best look to express your individuality!

Q. Hi Gina! What is the best technique for a flick liner on either a hooded eye or a wrinkled lid? Is it wrong to advise a client that this is the look they should stay away from OR is there always a solution? Can anyone regardless of eye shape and/or skin texture rock a graphic liner? Thank you @ginabrookebeauty ????❤️????

A. I believe there are no rules when it comes to makeup, there’s a solution to every challenge and it’s imperative to approach each and every client as an individual. If hooded eyes are a challenge, then go against the grain and rock out her liner by applying it much thicker above the lash line than normal. Elongate the wing extending out towards the temple rather than up and focus on perfecting the outer corner. The more times you try, the more confident you will feel, and it will be easier each time you experiment.

Q. What do you think is the best way to prep my skin prior to makeup

A. Apply Intraceuticals three step hyaluronic layering to the skin to prep the skin prior to makeup.

To create a flawless application, apply the Daily Serum to your Cle de Peau Concealer and blend. I mix the two to create the illusion of flawless skin. The combination reduces imperfections and creates a natural appearance. I recommend using Chanel’s retractable Kabuki Brush which features soft bristles ideal for a polished application.

Q. Hi Gina!! I use the under-eye gel in my morning routine. It’s the only product I have ever used that reduced puffiness and dark circles. I heard you have an eye mask. Do you recommend it? How do I use it and where do I buy it?

A. I highly recommend using Intraceuticals eye masks personally and professionally to provide an immediate boost to tired eyes. When at home I keep them in the refrigerator or on set I’ll place them on ice for an immediate boost. You can purchase them directly at www.intraceuticals.com
